An affordable AEO tool for small businesses
AEO — answer engine optimisation — is what SEO becomes when people stop typing into Google and start asking an assistant. GeoKara tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini mention your business when someone asks about what you do, and tells you which of your pages they linked to. It starts at $29 a month.
What AEO actually is
When someone asks an assistant “who does emergency boiler repairs near me?”, they get an answer with a handful of sources — not ten blue links. Either your site is one of those sources or it is not. There is no position two or three to console yourself with, and no chart showing you crept up a place.
That makes the useful question binary and measurable: for the questions your customers actually ask, are you cited? Everything else — how to get cited, whether it is worth it, what to write — follows from knowing the answer.
How GeoKara measures it
- It reads the searches your site already appears for in Google Search Console, and turns the ones phrased as questions into a set of tracked prompts. You can edit them, delete them, or add your own.
- Once a week it asks each assistant those questions through their official APIs, with web search switched on, and records whether your site was cited — and if so, which page.
- It records which other domains were cited for the same question, so you can see whether a topic has one established winner or no settled answer at all.
- All of that lands in the same weekly email as your Search Console numbers, in plain English.
What this costs, and why it is not free
Every tracked question is a real API call to each assistant, and those calls cost money — a few cents each, every week, forever. That is the honest reason AEO tracking is not a free feature bolted onto something else: somebody is paying for those calls.
- Starter, $29/month — 1 site, 10 tracked questions a week, across 3 assistants.
- Growth, $129/month — up to 5 sites, 20 tracked questions a week for each, plus blog drafts written from the questions you are losing.
Flat monthly price. No credit counting, no per-query metering, no surprise overage bill.
What nobody can honestly promise you
- That you will get cited. Anyone selling guaranteed AI mentions is selling something they do not control.
- That a weekly check is the whole truth. We query the official APIs with search enabled. The answers move, and they will not match a live chat word for word. Treat a week's result as a sample, not a ranking.
- That every assistant can be measured. We track ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini because they have APIs we can query honestly. Microsoft Copilot has no public API for this; we built support for a third-party route to it and left it switched off, because in testing it returned no usable data. It goes live the day it works, and not before.
